Sweep decking with a stiff brush or broom to remove all surface contaminates, such as dirt, grit and organic matter, including leaves, twigs and moss. Treat any mould or algae on the surface of the deck.

Use a garden broom for optimum finish. Pour product into a container that is large enough to dip the garden broom in before applying product. Scrub 1 coat evenly along the grain, avoiding overlaps. Apply pressure when using garden broom to remove greyness from the wood and maintain an even finish. The more pressure applied the better the final finish will be. Cover any surfaces nearby in case of splashing. Any splashes should be cleaned up immediately (whilst still wet) with water and household detergent. Do not apply in temperatures below 5°C, in damp conditions or if rain is likely before product has dried.

2-6 hours. Drying times can vary depending on the nature of the surface and the weather conditions. Avoid heavy wear and tear for at least 24 hours after application.

Cleaning After Final Use: Clean application equipment immediately after final use to reuse them for future projects, saving you money and reducing waste.

Cleaning Steps:

1. Remove Excess Product: Scrape off leftover product into a container for reuse.
2. Wash with Warm, Soapy Water: Clean application equipment with warm soapy water in a sealed container like a bucket or tub.
3. Rinse Thoroughly: Rinse out all soap and paint residues into the same container.
4. Dry Naturally: Let tools air-dry and store in a dry, dust-free area.

Dispose Responsibly:
Settle Solids: Let solids settle at the bottom of the container. Pour off clear water for reuse or disposal.
Disposal: Let remaining solids dry fully before disposing of them as solid waste.

Do not flush paint down the drain, including when cleaning painting tools

Maintenance

To maintain the finish, simply re-apply Cuprinol Total Deck as required, following the Preparation and Application instructions above.
