How to set up an outdoor cinema
From rom-coms to football to the Platinum Jubilee and more... here's how to create a space in your garden to watch this summer's big events
Let's go outside
Prep your garden so your guests can relax in style
A relaxing pallet sofa
Give "lounging in front of the telly" a warm-weather upgrade with this garden pallet bed. We started by cleaning and sanding 4 wooden pallets, before screwing them together to create an L shape. We attached castors underneath and applied 2 coats of Urban Slate for a polished look that teams perfectly with Dusky Gem on the fence and Natural Stone on the table. The final step? Add squashy cushions and let movie night begin!
The power of colour
Refreshing wooden garden furniture with a fresh lick of Garden Shades paint will instantly make your space look more pulled together and with just two coats, you can give it up to 6 years of protection from the elements. We love the way these colours – White Daisy on the table, Sweet Sundae on the benches and Beach Blue on the chairs – set the scene for summer celebrations and will cheer up your space all year round.
Plant appeal
Cuprinol Garden Shades can be applied to all kinds of surfaces, from wood to masonry to terracotta, and making colourful planters is a breeze. We spruced up these plain pots in no time by masking out our design with tape and adding a swipe of White Daisy, Terracotta, Dazzling Yellow and Black Ash (bonus: it's a brilliant eco-friendly way to use up leftover paint, too!).
