You will need:

  • Preloved stripped furniture is perfect for this project (preferably an unpainted solid wood chest of drawers)
  • 1x 1L tin of Cuprinol Garden Shades for the main body of the bar
  • 1x 1L tin of Cuprinol Garden Shades for the top of the bar and the draw handles
  • 1 x 2.5L tin of Cuprinol Wood Preserver
  • Sandpaper, sanding block and scraper
  • 1 x each 1” and 2” paintbrushes
  • Screwdriver and screws
  • Cocktail kit - complete with glasses, a bottle of Pimms and fresh mint to infuse your summer drink creations!

Step 1
Prep your furniture by sanding the surface of the wood until it’s smooth. Apply a coat of Cuprinol Wood Preserver with a brush or small roller and allow to dry. This will ensure your furniture will withstand the elements once it’s outside.

Step 2
Paint the main section of your furniture with two coats of Cuprinol Garden Shades (use a paintbrush for tricky areas like the edges of drawers, and a roller for large flat areas). Give your furniture time to dry thoroughly between coats.

Step 3
Unscrew the handles from your dresser and paint in a contrasting colour to get the most eye-catching result.

Step 4
Paint the top of the dresser in two coats of the second colour using a small roller for a swift transformation and allow your final colour to dry.

Step 5
Now just fill up your drawers with your cocktail kit and you're all set for your next garden party! Did somebody say Pimms!? I'm sure somebody said Pimms.
