Usage guide
Cuprinol Total Exterior Woodstain provides the
ultimate colour and protection for all exterior joinery. Its advanced
formulation flexes with the natural movement of the wood to resist
cracking, flaking and peeling and contains ingredients that work
together in 3 ways.
- Protects - UV inhibitors help prevent weathering and offer 5 years protection.
- Waterproofs - Provides a long lasting water repellent barrier.
- Enhances - Lightly tinted to enhance the natural beauty of the wood.
Cuprinol Total Exterior Woodstain is for use on all
exterior joinery wood
such as window frames and doors. It has a drip resistant
formulation to ensure the best possible finish.

For use on all exterior joinery wood
such as window frames and doors.

A 2.5L tin is normally sufficient for:
Woodstained wood: 32m² with 2 coats
Bare wood : 20m² with 3 coats

Previously stained wood should be
lightly sanded and dust removed with
a lint free cloth. Surfaces to be stained
should be sound, clean and dry. Before
surface preparation, read the information
about old lead paints. If required treat
bare wood with a clear preservative
such as Cuprinol Wood Preserver
Clear (IP) before applying a Woodstain.

Brush evenly along the grain, avoid
overlaps. Final colour will depend upon
wood type, previous treatment and
number of coats applied.
DO NOT STIR OR THIN.
The final colour will depend on the wood
colour and how thickly the woodstain
is applied. Apply 2-3 coats of Cuprinol
Total Exterior Woodstain to bare wood
and 1-2 coats for redecoration depending
on the colour desired and the amount
of weathering that has occurred.
Do not
apply in extremes of temperature

Cuprinol Total Exterior Woodstain
will normally be touch dry in 4 hours
in good drying conditions. When applying
additional coats allow a minimum of
16 hours before re-coating.

After use, remove as much woodstain
as possible from brushes before cleaning
with white spirit. For best results use
Polycell Brush Cleaner. Do not store or use in extreme
temperatures and protect from frost.
