Usage guide
Cuprinol Rollable Decking Treatment's unique
formulation, designed for roller application with the Cuprinol Decking
Roller, saves time allowing most jobs to be completed in one day.
Rollable Decking Treatment is quick-drying, low odour and safe with
plants and pets when dry.

Cuprinol Rollable Decking Treatment is formulated for use on
new or existing wooden decks. For maximum performance on decks Rollable Decking
Treatment should be applied to all sides of wood prior to laying decking. A
brush may be used instead of a roller for timber not yet assembled.

A 3L pack is normally sufficient for:
Bare and previously stained wood:12m² with two coats
Absorbent wood, sawn wood and grooved decking will reduce coverage.

For timber in ground contact use pretreated timber. Timber specifically
sold as decking is normally pre-treated with wood preserver to prevent decay.
Surfaces should be free from algae and mould. Where these are present, brush
decking to remove dirt and debris and then clean the surface with Cuprinol
Decking Cleaner. Rinse well
and allow to dry. Resinous or oily wood may affect performance.
New wood: If necessary wipe with white spirit to remove any natural oils/resins.
Weathered wood: Completely remove all grey wood by sanding back to clean sound
wood, or by using Cuprinol Decking
Restorer.
Painted or varnished wood: Sand off or chemically strip existing coatings then
treat as bare wood.
Sound woodstained wood: Wash with Cuprinol Decking Cleaner to remove dirt and
grease and allow to dry.

Remove lid and stir well before use. For best results, cut in
where necessary (e.g. between slats) by brush before rolling. Fully submerge
roller, remove excess fluid by rolling on grid, then apply Cuprinol Rollable
Decking Treatment to your timber, rolling in the direction of the slats. Do
not allow the Rollable Decking Treatment to form pools in the grooves. This
can be avoided by ensuring that the roller is not overloaded, and by not applying
excessive pressure during application. As with all rollers, it takes a few
minutes of use to reach optimum performace whilst the fluid is absorbed deep
into the pile core. One coat is normally sufficient, although more may be applied
for extra protection. Do not apply if rain is likely before treatment can dry,
or if the temperature is below 5°C, or in conditions of high humidity or
frost.

Cuprinol Rollable Decking Treatment will be touch dry in 2-6
hours in good drying conditions. When applying subsequent coats allow to dry
fully before recoating. Avoid heavy wear and tear for a few days after application.
On previously repaired decking, touch up bare areas and allow to dry before
finishing with further coats. Apply 1 to 2 coats depending on the degree of
protection required.

Reseal tub after use. Clean up any spills while still wet. Remove
as much product as possible from roller before washing well with water. Do
not use or store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
Always read the pack instructions carefully before use.
