Usage guide

Cuprinol PowerPad Decking Stain gives a semi-transparent, matt finish for all types of timber decking. Formulated for use with the PowerPad applicator it easily transforms, colours and waterproofs your decking.

The ultra tough finish resists cracking and peeling caused by the weather and algicides help protect the film from the growth of green algae and mould.

Where to use

Formulated for use on new or existing wooden decks.

How much is needed

1L pack is sufficient for 8.5m² on bare and previously stained wood. Absorbant and sawn wood will reduce coverage

Preparing the job

Surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from dirt, debris, algae and mould. Resinous or oily wood may affect performance.

New wood: Wipe with white spirit to remove any natural oils/resins.
Weathered wood: Completely remove all grey wood by sanding back to sound wood.
Painted or varnished wood: Sand off or chemically strip existing coatings, then treat as new wood.
Sound woodstained wood: Wash to remove dirt and grease, allow to dry

How to apply

Shake the bottle thoroughly before inserting in the Cuprinol PowerPad applicator. Before using, please refer to the user guide supplied with the PowerPad applicator. Final colour will depend upon wood type, previous treatment and the number of coats applied. Do not apply if rain is likely before the treatment can dry, or if the temperature is below 5C, or in conditions of high humidity or frost.

Drying time

Cuprinol PowerPad Decking Stain will be touch dry in 2-6 hours in good drying conditions. When applying subsequent coats, allow to dry fully before recoating. Avoid heavy wear and tear for a few days after application. Apply 2-3 coats depending on the colour and degree of protection required.

Cleaning and storage

After use, remove excess product from the pad and clean with water.

Do not store in extremes of temperature and protect from frost.
