Cuprinol Power Sprayer

Usage guide

The Cuprinol Power Sprayer is the ultimate in speed and convenience. Because it's cordless, you can take it anywhere in the garden and its continuous spray allows you to treat a fence panel in as little as 3 minutes.

The Cuprinol breakthrough nozzle technology ensures an accurate, even spray pattern that reaches all the awkward spaces without the need for a brush. When the sprayer needs to be recharged (usually after about 12 fence panels), the fast charging unit recharges the battery in approximately one hour, so most fences can be easily completed in a day.

The Cuprinol Power Sprayer has been designed to give great results with Cuprinol Sprayable Fence Treatments, Cuprinol Garden Shades and Cuprinol Sprayable Decking Oil. Extension lances are available for greater convenience when using the sprayer to treat decking. So whether you want to colour and protect your fence, treat your deck or summerhouse or add some creative colour to your garden, you can complete the job with minimum effort in a fraction of the time!

Cleaning and storage

CAUTION: DO NOT LEAVE SPRAYER FILLED WITH PRODUCT OR WATER WHEN NOT IN USE OR OVERNIGHT. REMOVE BATTERY BEFORE CLEANING. CLEAN WITH WATER ONLY, DO NOT USE WHITE SPIRIT OR OTHER SOLVENTS.

Prior to cleaning, ensure that there is enough power in the battery so that the sprayer can be flushed through with water.

See User Guide PDF (above, right) for diagrams.

NOZZLE: Remove nozzle retainer and wash thoroughly all nozzle components including the nozzle filter under running water using a soft nail brush to remove any product. Check to see if nozzle holes are clear of any product. Do not use wire, pins or similar sharp objects to clean or unblock the nozzle. This will lead to damage and a poor spray pattern. Do not allow product to dry as this will block nozzle components. Remove nozzle elbow and clean thoroughly under running water.

TANK: Remove tank from pump body by releasing lock button. Pour any remaining product back into the original pack. Rinse out tank throughly and wipe off any product from the base and the main pump body with a cloth.

INNER PIPES: Fill the now clean sprayer tank with 5 litres of water and reattach to the pump body. Do not replace nozzle elbow and nozzle components back on the lance during this operation. Switch on the Power Sprayer and allow the liquid to flow through into an empty container and then flush down a sink. Do not dispose of washings into drains or watercourses. Continue pumping water until the waste water runs clear (this might take 3-5 minutes) refilling the sprayer tank with clean water if necessary.

SUCTION PIPE AND INLET FILTER: Remove suction pipe and inlet filter and clean under running water with a soft brush to ensure all product is removed especially from the inlet filter.

To avoid losing smaller components we recommend storing the Power Sprayer fully assembled. Reassemble the nozzle and attach to the nozzle elbow and lance before storing.

Troubleshooting: Air locks

An air lock is a bubble of air caught somewhere between the end of the dip tube and the pump. Though the pump is still operating, fluid/water cannot be pumped out until this air bubble is dislodged.

If you're having problems with air locks in your sprayer then follow our troubleshooting tips below, or watch our troubleshooting video. You can also find help in the user guide leaflet provided in your pack. If you have misplaced this then a PDF version can be downloaded from the box above.

Air locks can occur:

- Following continued pumping with no product left in the tank or nearly empty so that when sprayer is being moved product flow up the dip tube is interrupted.
- Interruption of "fluid column" during refilling.
- During cleaning - pumping from fluid to water.

Elimination of air locks:

1. Be persistent - air locks can be cleared.

2. Make sure that the Power Sprayer is not spraying because its nozzle is blocked. Check to see if it will spray without nozzle elbow pointing end of lance into original product container. If it sprays check nozzle is clean - remove nozzle retainer and wash nozzle and pre-orifice ensuring orifices are not blocked. Reassemble nozzle replace battery and check spraying.

3. If an air lock is identified always follow instructions as per leaflet Troubleshooting section first.

4. If an air lock occurs during spraying and troubleshooting method does not work - try leaving it to stand with product inside for up to 1-2 hours (either remove nozzle and wash clean or cover with cling film to stop product drying and hence blocking nozzle). Try spraying again.

5. If an air lock will not clear by trying step 4 above, or will not pump water on change over for cleaning, then try the following. Ensure sprayer tank is clean of product. Fill tank with clean water to the maximum level and clip back onto the pump body. Press and hold on switch as long as it takes for water to come through - be persistent and prepared to hold the switch in the ON position for up to 5 minutes.

Always read the pack instructions carefully before use.
