Coastal
Get a sense of the seaside in your garden this summer with our fun and exciting coastal style that is sure to be a big hit with the kids.
For the coastal look you should combine shades of fresh blues and bright white with fun features for your children.
-
To create the coastal look, try transforming either a shed or children's playhouse into a seaside beach hut. Bring in bands of colour by applying Garden Shades in bold stripes of Forget-Me-Not, Seagrass, Pale Jasmine and Barleywood. Use your imagination to transform a picnic table in the same way.
-
Add a personal touch to your seaside hut with a fun and easy to make beach sign. Paint a piece of wood (approx 40cm x 15cm) with Garden Shades in Forget-Me-Not and add the words of your choice using Pale Jasmine. Tie on small beach objects such as shells, driftwood and pieces of natural sponge, then wrap a piece of rope around the sign and attach it to the door.
-
Bring the family together by transforming a picnic bench into a bright and breezy outdoor seating area. Our old bench has been given a seaside feel by painting the planks in alternate colours.
-
Keep the kids entertained with fun features in the garden. We've treated this sandpit to a couple of coats of Garden Shades and painted the bucket and spade to match. It's a good idea to use play sand for the sandpit, which is soft and kind to the skin, unlike everyday building sand. Always remember to cover sandpits at night.
-
Continue the theme throughout the garden and give planters a seaside look by mirroring the shed's cool coastal stripes. Think carefully about your planting scheme - grasses and rushes will really add to your garden's all-new coastal character. Pebbles will help to create an authentic beach-like feel.

Cuprinol Garden Shades now have an extensive colour palette of 23 different shades to choose from, and because Garden Shades transforms both bare and weathered wood in just a couple of hours your garden transformation is only a day away!
