Garden games
Summer is always a great time to get out in your garden and have a little fun by playing some games. Traditional garden games such as boules are always a great way to involve the whole family or enjoy an afternoon with friends but there are other exciting ways to make the most of your garden space in the summer. Be inventive and create your own game or take a look at our list to see how you can have a fun packed day in your garden
Hopscotch is a game that we all must remember from our childhood and can still be enjoyed by people of all ages. The safest and easiest way to create your own hopscotch grid is to use a temporary white spray on your lawn. This way it can be easily washed off without harming your garden or the environment. Simply spray out your grid and invite the whole family to join in on the fun.
Alternatively use a temporary white spray to create a badminton court. On those not so windy days, badminton is a great way to have some fun and get some exercise at the same time.
Another easy way to get some enjoyment out of your games garden is to play some croquet. Set up a croquet course in your garden and enjoy playing with teams or one on one. A croquet set includes nine wickets, croquet balls and wooden mallets. The object of the game is to accumulate the most points while hitting the balls through the wickets with the mallet. The wickets are stakes usually made of metal that look like small arches that you insert into the ground. Points are awarded as you hit your ball through the wickets in the correct order and from the proper direction. If unsure of the rules most croquet sets will include a set of rules for you to follow. The croquet course is typically set up in a double diamond pattern, but you can make your own design and set your own points for each successful pass through.
